Called “a prodigy” by People Magazine and hailed as a face to watch by the Los Angeles Times, 18-year-old Alecia Elliott earned the attention of critics, fans and the music industry with the 2000 debut country pop album “I’m Diggin’ It.”
Executive Producer Peter Engel was so impressed with Alecia’s music videos from that album he made a trip to Nashville to meet with her in person and invited her to come to Los Angeles to work with him on some television projects. A guest spot on “Malibu, CA” led to the series “All About Us.”
Born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Alecia began singing at age eight. Impressed with her voice, her aunt entered her in various talent contests and she was invited to sing a concert duet with country artist Lorrie Morgan. By age 11 she was performing in Nashville and touring Europe. She is currently recording a new pop album for the Island Def Jam label.
Her birthday is December 25th.
